I really appreciate your kind words Emily. This work is very transformative and is very important as you learn the tools to recalibrate your nervous system so that you will remain in the parasympathetic nervous system for longer periods of time where you can heal. You can’t heal in the stress response (the sympathetic nervous system) too much energy, blood supply, oxygen, and nutrients are being used to keep you safe and protected (even if it’s unresourceful your subconscious mind is only using the instructions it received maybe when you were a little kid). By moving into the relaxation response you can heal the mind and body.

Research
Pain
Hypnotized volunteers are up to 50% more capable of handling painful stimuli (Faymonville et al., 2006). Scans reveal that hypnosis can lower activity in the brain’s anterior cingulate cortex, linking sensory stimuli to emotional and behavioral responses, and switch off pain signals.
Some studies suggest that hypnosis is more effective than standard medical care when used to reduce pain during labor and childbirth (Landolt & Milling, 2011).
