You may have seen people before bragging about how much they “hustle” or “grind”…
As annoying as these people are… There is a method to their madness.
You see, they don’t view motivation as binary…
Either you’re motivated, or not at all.
When really your motivation is always there… Just in lower amounts than other times.
Here’s how I raise my motivation:
Let’s say you have a motivation level of 10/100.
Now visualize yourself turning up the dial to 100.
What are the thoughts you’re having as you turn it up to 30, 50, and 80?
Think back to a moment where you felt insanely motivated to learn a new hobby or skill…
Visualize yourself going through that process again… And bring that to the present.
I had a client a while back who was a lawyer and he was starting to lose the fire he had for winning this specific case.
So I had him visualize a moment from playing basketball as a child…
When the clock almost hit zero, he was across the court and decided to throw the ball… Swoosh! He scores only hitting net!
His teammates picked him up and carried him while chanting his name.
At this moment he felt like he could do anything in the world!
So he channeled his motivation to this court case and had a such easier time with it.
Overall, the motivation you’re looking for is already inside you somewhere…
It’s just about finding it from your past and bringing it to the present.
